My nighttime skin care routine

Hi there!

I wanted to come on here and post my night time skin care routine that goes with my last blog post on my morning routine.  I have been following this routine for about a few months now and my skin has changed for the better! I notice it being smoother, more even toned, less breakouts and also these products help me fight time (wrinkles)!

For reference, my skin is considered pretty normal.  I get oily in the summer and drier in the winter.  I do get the occasional breakout (hormonal) and now that I’m in my mid 30’s I am getting fine lines on my forehead, eyes and around the mouth.

Please use my advice to your discretion, what may work for me may not work for you.

But here is what I use in the evening.

From left to right:

  • Facewash – Use any face wash you want but lately I’ve been using a gentle hydrating face wash since my skin has been drier than oilier.  This one has been great at making my skin feel clean without making it feel dry.
  • Toner – I love LOVE this toner! It is so gentle and non-irritating and will prep your skin and pores for your skin care creams/serums.  Use a toner you like also, but it’s very important to use one! I see better results when I use one than when I don’t.
    • Both of these items will do exactly the SAME thing, but there is a huge price difference.  The one from India is around $5/tube and the gel one is $60.  If you are going to India you can get it at any pharmacy or you can order online at www.alldaychemist.com – Totally legit website, I have ordered from there myself.
    • This will make your skin so even toned, lighten any acne scars, freckles, age spots etc.  I have a bunch of freckles on my cheeks and because of this, they have lightened so much!  I use this morning and night, but when applying in the morning you must put an SPF on top!
  • The next 3 products are where the real magic happens! I believe that every anti aging night time skin care routine should include a Retin A or Retinol.  This really helps battle fine lines and wrinkles, exfoliates and brings new skin to the surface, helps with breakouts, minimizes pores, and overall makes your skin GLOW!
    • The major key to getting the most out of your Retin A's and Retinols is to apply this about 20-30 minutes AFTER you wash your face.  Your face must be bone dry when applying this to reap the most benefits.
    • You only need a pea size amount of Retin A - in this case more is not better.  Don't slather too much of this on your face or else you will be left very irritated!
    • To start off with use Retin A every other night or even every 2 nights.  Slowly build up your skins tolerance to a daily use.
    • Your skin will be dry for the first week or two of using Retin A, but this is a good sign! Dead skin is shedding!  Don't get discouraged as this will get better over time :)

  • The first two creams are Retin A's.  One is a 0.05% strength and the other is a 0.01% strength.
    • Retin A comes in 3 strengths -- 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1%
    • If you have sensitive skin then start at the lowest strength
    • I started at the 0.05% and once my skin built a tolerance to the Retin A, I moved up to the 0.1% strength.
    • I alternate between the 2 strengths depending on how my skin is reacting
    • You can get these at www.alldaychemist.com or www.premierlook.com
  • The Sanitas Retinol peeling cream is so amazing! I use this about every 2 weeks at night after I wash and tone my face.  I put a light layer all over my face avoiding my eye area.
    • You will notice that in about 2 days after applying this cream that your face will start peeling - almost like a chemical peel in a dermatologist's office
    • Your skin will be left so smooth because all the dead skin will be shedding off and new skin will shine through.
    • This Retinol peeling cream also comes in 3 levels - so if you want, you can start at level 1 and work your way up.  I jumped right into level 3 since my skin has been used to Retin A.
    • You can find this here Sanitas Skincare Retinol Peeling Cream (level 3)
  •  After applying Retin A/Retinol I wait another 20-30 minutes so the product is absorbed thoroughly and then I apply a moisturizer.  You can use any kind you like but I use this Elta MD intense moisturizer for the nights I apply my Retin A - to counter balance the dryness.
Phew! That was a lot of info!! :)  I know this seems like a lot of steps.  But what I do is usually wash and tone my face when my kids are taking baths.  Then I go get them ready and let my face dry for the next 20-30 minutes.  Then I go in and apply my Retin A and then go feed them dinner, help with homework etc.  Then let another 20-30 minutes pass and then finish off with a moisturizer.

I hope this helps you all! I am really passionate about taking care of my skin for a smooth canvas for makeup! All of this has made my makeup go on so much smoother and look flawless and most importantly give me a youthful GLOW!

I hope you guys have a great week!

My morning skin care routine

Happy Friday!

As promised here is a little insight into what I’ve been using on my skin lately.  I have been following a pretty strict routine of incorporating anti-aging products into my skin care routine and I have been getting some amazing results!

I will say, you need to take your own skin type into consideration and have patience! Your skin will not transform overnight.  It did take me about 2 weeks to see great results and I’m hooked!

I am the type of girl that NEVER washed her face at night, yup – I’d even fall asleep with a full face of make up on…gross I know! But now, no matter what I’m doing or no matter how late it is, I will make a point to wash my face and because I’m seeing results, I’m actually enjoying it :)

But here is what I use in the morning and then I’ll post another picture with my night-time routine.

From left to right:

  • Facewash – Use any face wash you want but lately I’ve been using a gently hydrating face wash since my skin has been drier than oilier.

  • IS clinical youth serum – I just started incorporating a youth serum into my skincare.  You can get this at http://www.premierlook.com/is-clinical-youth-serum/.  Over time this is supposed to keep wrinkles away and slow down the aging process. I’ve only used it for 2 weeks now, but so far I’m loving it.
  • I always end my AM skin care with an SPF.  You can use any SPF you want but this is one I just had on hand.

If you only want to buy a few things to get started, I would suggest a good cleanser, toner, SPF and definitely the Hydroquinone 4%.  It does wonders!!!!

You can use coupon code FALL20 at www.premierlook.com for 20% off any order and they always have free shipping.  My good friend owns this website, so I know everything she carries is authentic.  She sells all medical grade skin care and so far everything has been phenomenal!

Also, I know some of this stuff is expensive.  But these items last a long time and are an investment for your face.  Anything to prevent botox…am I right? :)

I hope this helps, any questions?? Please leave me a comment!!!

It Cosmetics: Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector

Hi everyone!

Lately life has been so non-stop for me and I can't seem time find a minute to even sit and breathe!  Between 2 kids, a full time job and taking care of our house and day to day activities and chores, I feel like we are just cranking our days out without even sitting down to take a moment to ourselves!

But we are loving the time with our kiddos and just can't believe where our days go.  The other day I was going through my husband's iPhone and looking at old pictures of our daughter (who is 3.5 yrs old now) and we just can't believe how much she has turned into a little lady now.  She is such the diva!!  Then we have our almost 3 month old son, who is just growing taller each week!  I told my husband we are just so blessed and life is so beautiful!!

Anyways, enough of the sappiness, haha, on to my review!  Based on everything I've said above..even though life is great and precious..it has also been giving me some serious dark circles!! I never had a major issue with dark circles, but lately with all my fatigue my skin is changing!!

I've been wearing It Cosmetics - Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector.  It's not only a concealer but it's a corrector in one.  It has properties built into that not only conceal but cancel out the discoloration as well.  It helps cancel out the grayness under my eyes and just brightens the look of my skin.

Here is my before:

Here is my after:

It Cosmetics claims that this product is 8 hours of sleep in a jar, and I have to agree!! Watch my video below to find out my thoughts and how I apply it.

REVIEW: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light

Hi everyone!!

I'm always looking for a glowy and bronzy look that just makes my skin look so radiant and healthy! I was looking for a good highlight powder and came across these Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders.

**What are these powders?

"A universal finishing powder that features state-of-the-art technology to recreate the most exquisitely flattering types of light. "

These powders come in 6 shades and are named after different light settings.  I chose Radiant light for my skintone.  You can use these powders on certain parts of your face just to highlight or you can use them all over as a setting powder to give you an all over glow.  These powders are light enough to use all over.  I actually like to use this all over as a setting powder and it gives my whole face a beam of light :)  Here are some pictures:

Radiant light used all over my face

Heavy swatch of Radiant light

Blended swatch

As you can see by the swatches they are very light and can be used all over your face as a setting powder with an extra glow :)

I hope you like this look.  You can get this powder at Sephora or sephora.com and hope you guys like it as much as I do!

Take care

REVIEW: MAYBELLINE FITME FOUNDATION STICK & FLOWER BY DREW BARRYMORE FOUNDATION STICK

Hi everyone!

Happy Sunday! I hope you guys are all having a great weekend! I haven't done much all weekend, just getting ready for this baby! We have about 2-3 weeks to go and just finishing up last minute things before he makes his debut :)

Today I wanted to take some time to review 2 new DRUGSTORE finds that I'm in love with!! As you guys saw in my previous video, I'm always loving to try new foundations and just getting that flawless face look :)

The 2 products that I will be reviewing today are the Maybelline FITMe Shine-Free foundation stick and the Flower by Drew Barrymore foundation stick.  I LOVE foundation sticks, they are so easy to apply, are portable and travel friendly :)  Here are some pictures of both products:

I am a shade 240/Golden Beige in the Maybelline FITMe foundation and SF5 in the Flower stick foundation.

**I am an NC42 in MAC for reference**

Both are a perfect match for me and apply effortlessly.  They are very smooth when you apply it to the face and blend very easily with a sponge or foundation brush.

They both last all day and for my combination skin type it controls the shine.

I do use a primer and setting powder with both of these foundations to make the lasting power stronger.

I also do need to use a concealer for my under eyes because this is not a super full coverage foundation and if you have spots that need concealing then you'll still need a concealer.

Overall, I am very impressed and will continue to use these foundations for months to come.

I got both of these foundations at Wal-Mart.
So they were both under $10!! Can't beat that price point!!

Maybelline - $6.94
Flower - $8.98

Flower by Drew Barrymore stick foundation in SF5
**Flower is exclusively sold at Wal-Mart**
Maybelline FITMe Shine-Free foundation in 240

Here are some pictures of my face of the day (FOTD) today and I'm wearing the Maybelline FITMe Foundation in 240/Golden Beige.

Thanks for stopping by today and if you'd like to see me do a tutorial on the above look please let me know in the comments below.  If you have any suggestions on what you would like for me to review next then please let me know.  Don't forget to subscribe!

Take care,

My current summer skincare routine!

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you my current skin care routine for this summer.  I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and have seen some awesome results!  So I'm using this new line called Clinicians Complex and I am in LOOOVE! :) My skin has never been more smooth and radiant ever before!

Since I've been pregnant and also over 30, my skin has lost a bit of it's natural radiance :(  You would think I would have that natural pregnancy "glow" - but no not here!!  So I decided to do something about it...

I normally just use drugstore cleansers and moisturizers but they haven't been very effective for me.  So I decided to engage my friend Brianna, who owns and manages www.premierlook.com.  I told her what my issues were and she told me to try these 3 products:

1. Clinicians Complex Skin Bleaching Cleanser
2. Clinicians Complex Facial Toner
3. Clinicians Complex 6% Skin Bleaching Cream

Here is the video showing my review on the above products and where to purchase them:

I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday and please don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel and to follow my blog!

Take care,
